I’m a keen photographer and can often be seen, camera pressed to my face, capturing one of the many things that draw my attention and eye. In 2009, 2010 and 2011 I had the opportunity to exhibit some of my work in Lewes, England — something I have less opportunity to pursue now that I’ve embraced a more nomadic existence.
In December 2013, Sean and I published Burgos², a 144-page book of 367 Instagram photographs of Burgos, Spain, where we lived from September 2012 to April 2013. Over the course of of time in Burgos, we took over 1,400 Instagram photographs of both the city and province.
Soon after arriving, our photographs attracted the attention of local Instgramers and, on 25 November 2012, we were featured in the Diario de Burgos. You can read the story in An Instagram View of Burgos. Exactly a year later we were featured again in the Diario, in an article announcing the imminent launch of Burgos².
My main camera is a Nikon D80, which I supplement with a compact Canon IXUS (when I’m not in the mood to carry a heavier camera) and my iPhone 4 (for taking and sharing Instagram photographs).
Sometimes I like to experiment with shooting techniques, such as intentional camera movement and zoom effect. To see some examples, just click on the links in the Photography menu above.
